🌸 Now THIS Is Flower Power!

We couldn't wait to share this incredible finish from our customer, Joanne Morrisson!

Joanne with her Flower Power quilt

Joanne started her Flower Power Block of the Month sometime during COVID, and after plenty of stitching, patience, and creativity, it has finally all come together. And what a quilt it is!

The closer you look, the more there is to discover. Joanne took each flower and made it something special with beautiful wool appliqué, layers of colorful embroidery, and an incredible variety of stitches and tiny details. Her attention to detail is absolutely amazing!

Karen took close-up photos of every single block so you can really appreciate Joanne's handiwork. Be sure to take your time looking through them because there is inspiration tucked into every flower.

🌼 Feeling Inspired?

Flower Power may be a retired Block of the Month, but if Joanne's quilt has you itching to stitch some flowers of your own, take a look at our current Modern Blooms Block of the Month!

And after seeing what Joanne did with her flowers, just imagine how you could make those Modern Blooms blocks your own. Add extra embroidery, play with different stitches, and let your creativity take them to the next level!

Our Wool Appliqué Toolbox

Colorful wool rolls

After seeing all of the beautiful wool work in Joanne's Flower Power quilt, you might be feeling inspired to pull out a little wool of your own!

Over the years, Karen has found a handful of tools and notions that she reaches for again and again when working on wool appliqué. So we thought we'd gather some of our favorites in one place.

🌈 Start With the Wool

Our wool rolls make it easy to build your stash with a beautiful assortment of colors. Choose from Bright for those happy pops of color or primary colors for a calmer palette.

✂️ Prep & Cut

Form-Flex helps get your pieces ready for appliqué, while a good pair of curved scissors makes getting around those little shapes and curves so much easier.

📍 Keep Everything in Place

Tiny appliqué pins are one of those simple little tools that can make a big difference, holding your wool pieces in place without getting in the way while you stitch.

🪡 Add the Finishing Touches

Then comes the really fun part...the stitching! WonderFil threads give you plenty of beautiful options for adding color, texture, and all those little details that make wool appliqué come alive.
