Karen always puts Form-Flex behind her hand stitching. It adds body to the background fabric and supports her stitching without the need for a hoop. It is a must for the Butterfly Stitching Class. It is sold by the yard.
I love to use this product on the back of my quilted projects that require embroidery work. It allows me the freedom to do the stitching without using a hoop & also adds some firmness to the final quilted piece. I also use it to back other fabrics such as dupioni silk, velvet, & wool when doing applique. Highly recommend this product.
I used Form-flex for the first time as a backing for some decorative stitches on my sewing machine. I was impressed
This makes hand embroidery a dream. We use stabilizer in machine embroidery- this is perfect for hand embroidery. Keeps stitches and knots from showing through. Nice texture to work with as well
I've been using the form flex on some quilt pieces with embroidery and I really like it. It's lightweight but gives it a bit more stability when embroidering plus it also can hide some shadowing that could occur
I haven’t actually used it yet, hoping to make a few of the butterflies from the book!
